Turtleman Triathlon
This triathlon is set in one of the most beautiful twin cities metro parks, Turtle Lake in Shoreview. Perfect for the first time triathlete or those with loads of experience. This is Minnesota's original triathlon. Sprint course: .5 mile swim, 12.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. Olympic course: One mile swim, 25 mile bike, 5.5 mile run. The lake is clean (thanks to very little boat traffic) and somewhat shallow (able to touch down feet at roughly the half way point) and the swim start is self seeded time trial. No pushing, punching or fighting for position here. The bike course is fairly flat, and the run is shaded. Barbecue at the finish.
